At Summer Solstice we celebrate the spirit of the sun,
the fullness of life, and the abundance of beauty everywhere.
We revel in long, languid days of relaxation and play,
and the ease of a slower rhythm.

Italy is the birthplace of Slow Living,
a mindful and celebratory way of life.
It invites us to cultivate meaningful connections,
enjoy the conviviality of a shared table,
and savor the sensuous pleasures of every day.
Each moment is enriched with gratitude.

The tiny hilltop town of Casperia in the heart of the Sabina mountains
will be the backdrop for our inner and outer wanderings–
strolling through the cobblestone streets,
walking in the nearby hills, cycling into the countryside,
and discovering new sources of inspiration.

Forani Palace, where we will stay, is a 15th century palazzo
with a courtyard and gardens, expansive decks, and a studio
converted from the Count’s stable for our circles and daily practices.
Panoramic views of olive groves, vineyards,
and the Sabina hills and forest-covered mountains
surround the grounds and village.

We invite you to join an intimate group of convivial women
as we savor and sample the slower pace
and pleasures of the Italian culture and cuisine,
weave and write ourselves into the colorful scenes,
and celebrate the spirit of sole.

Cost: $2995 ~ Includes: Forani Palazzo double room accommodations with private bathrooms; daily breakfasts, four lunches (locally sourced & organic food including gluten-free and vegetarian options), and four dinners including Terebinto cooking class with Solstice celebration dinner at an authentic agriturismo, olive oil and wine tasting at village enoteca with aperi cena; writing circles and Capacitar practices; yoga classes; art activities with sketchbooks; guided walk through the Sabina mountains; excursion to the Terme dei Papi Centre and wild hot springs & mud baths; a private swimming pool in the countryside; bicycles. (single room options $3575)

Not included: Airfare; optional spa treatments; additional meals out. Travel routes will be recommended and transportation to the village arranged.

Deposits & Payment terms: A non-refundable deposit of $995 is required by March 31, 2017. A final payment of $2000 is due by May 1. Trip insurance is required as all payment terms and conditions must be accepted with deposit.

Janet Lucy, MA, is the author of Moon Mother, Moon Daughter ~ Myths and Rituals that Celebrate a Girl’s Coming of Age and The Three Sunflowers, an award-winning children’s book. She is the Founder of Women’s Creative Network in Santa Barbara, CA, and Co-Founder of Under the Same Moon ~ Unifying & Affirming a Global Sisterhood. Janet offers intuitive and creative consulting for personal and professional development, facilitates women’s weekly writing groups, as well as international women’s writing retreats in Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru and Italy. Sarah Clark is a certified trainer of Multi-Cultural Wellness Education through Capacitar International. She is a multi-media artist and writer living in Jaco, Costa Rica where she leads wellness and compassionate communication groups to facilitate healing, empowerment, and intentional community. She has a Reiki One Certification and a Permaculture Design Certification from Quail Springs. Sarah is passionate about creating supportive spaces for women to share collective wisdom and to connect in love and solidarity.
